Emily Jackson
BA(Musical Theatre), BHlthSci, MSpPath, CPSP
Emily joined the VMA team in 2024, building upon her experience in various speech pathology clinical areas as well as her performance voice background.
After graduating in 2018, her early career was spent in effective professional communication and disability, with a strong focus on voice and self-advocacy. Recently, she has been working in a primary school, collaborating with a large team to develop functional goals for each child’s success in school.
Beyond her work with students in the education setting, Emily is passionate about supporting teachers’ voices and integrating voice exercises into classroom activities. Emily’s journey from a singing teacher to someone who has overcome voice problems has shaped her dedication to helping clients achieve effective communication and healthy voice use. Drawing on her unique experiences, she customises each session to be personalised, functional, and impactful.
She loves to dive into the intricacies of voice mechanics and is excited to share practical tools to boost access to full vocal capacity and effectiveness for meeting the person’s voice needs. She is loving the extension of these skills into other areas of laryngology too (cough and vocal cord dysfunction) and we love her enthusiasm for new learning.
When not working as a speech pathologist, Emily can be found teaching singing and dance, whizzing up dairy-free baking bonanzas (or disasters) and running around after a toddler.
