Dana is a Speech Pathologist with a Master of Speech Pathology from Federation University with a special interest in voice. She is passionate about supporting individuals with voice, swallowing and communication disorders.
Before becoming a Speech Pathologist, Dana worked as a primary school teacher for several years and studied drama. Dana’s varied professional background has given her a strong understanding of communication, learning, and the demands of occupational voice use. She draws upon these skills to help her clients understand the mechanisms underlying their voice and communication difficulties, and to translate complex clinical concepts into accessible, meaningful therapy.
Dana’s early clinical experience was in private practice, where she worked across both adult and paediatric caseloads for a broad range of presentations, including voice, swallowing, disability, and communication disorders. She is particularly drawn to the individuality of voice therapy and values working collaboratively with clients to understand the factors contributing to their presentation and tailor therapy to their goals, lifestyle, and communication demands.
Dana takes a holistic, evidence-based and patient-centred approach to therapy. She is committed to creating a supportive therapeutic environment and working closely with individuals to understand their goals and provide collaborative care.
